Been working on a Spider-man project at work so naturally this song has been in my head! Ah another favorite from my childhood. Kids nowadays probably never about these old school Marvel cartoons. Sad shame.

You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

R.I.P. Michael

Its pretty saddening to hear about this. Even though he was pretty weird in his later days, Thriller, Off The Wall and his Jackson 5 stuff is some of my favorite music ever created.

taken from TMZ:

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We’re told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.

A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived.

Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.

We’re told one of the staff members at Jackson’s home called 911.

La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.

Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr.,
Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince “Blanket” Michael Jackson II.

All-Time Favorite Comic Book Characters Pt.1

Ever since I was a young lad I have always had an infatuation w/comics, maybe it was the fantastic artwork that graced the pages or the unique powers that each hero possessed. Whatever it was I was hooked. Even before I was able to read, I was glued to the TV watching Superfriends, Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, and the various others that came on Saturday mornings. I loved them all! Besides each characters individuality it was their dedication to justice and the upholding of the law and the greater good of man that intrigued me. So with out any more delay I present to you my favorites.

Superman - I think every kid likes Superman at first, and secretly would like to be him. Hell he posses every super power there is, the ability to fly, super strength, super speed, heat vision, x-ray vision, super breath! If that’s not enough he’s a real stand up guy as well. He defines what a super hero is all about, standing up for the weak, defender of justice and peace. I remember I went through a stage where i was anti-Supes just because I thought he was too powerful and invulnerable. But as I got a little bit older I realized that his ideals kind of helped to shape me into who I am today. So I cannot lie I love the big galute, boy scout persona and all. I believe the world could use a real life Kal-El or at least people could take his ideologies into their own lives.

The Mighty Thor - He was probably one of the 1st Marvel Super Heros that caught my attention. Those snazzy yellow boots, red cape and bad ass hammer intrigued me. The fact that he could control the weather and smash almost any villain was quite dope as well. I also liked the fact that his origin was based on the original Norse mythology. Although I wasn’t too keen on the way he spoke, with his Thous and Thys and all of that shit. (kind of queer) But hey he’s the God of Thunder so I guess he supposed to speak all proper and shit.

The Flash - What kid wouldn’t love this guy??? He’s faster than Superman for Christ’s sake, shit he’s faster then ANYBODY! He runs so fast he can run over water, and thru walls! He can vibrate the molecules in his body so fast that he can lend his speed to almost any object. He also knows Kung-Fu! That shit is hard! He can pull your heart out of your chest before you even know what the fuck happened. ‘Nuff said… next!

The Incredible Hulk - Do I really need to explain why this guy is bad ass? Come on if you don’t know about the Hulk, well you’ve been living in a fucking cave for the last 30 years of your life. Let me break it down real simple like. He gets mad. He turns green. He becomes a fucking nightmare. Nothing can hurt him. Fire? nope. Bullets? uh uh. Nuclear Weapons? Bitch please. That shit just makes him madder. You know what happens when he gets madder, when he’s already pissed to begin with? The motherfucker gets stronger. Which means big trouble. Moving on…

Iron Fist - One of the more obscure Marvel characters, but every bit as cool. This cat knows Kung-Fu, every form of Kung-Fu mind you. He knows it so well, he can channel his chi to his hands so they become super fucking hard, which means he can bust through almost any kind of material. He’s lightning fast too and always had some cool eastern knowledge that he’d drop every issue. Kind of like a fortune cookie but way cooler. He often teamed up with Power Man who was like Dolemite on steroids. Together they were Heros for Hire. Yes it was very 70s and campy but that’s what made it so cool.

This raps up the 1st part of my All-Time Favorite Comic Book Characters, stay tuned for Pt.2 coming shortly.
